Writing Break Continues Quick Notes

1.  So yeah, I'm still taking it easy on the writing front, even if the urge is growing.  Lots of turning on the laptop and looking at blank pages thinking about how I could write and sometimes I even do burst out a quick few paragraphs, but nothing much at the moment.

2.  Finished up all the formatting on King Henry Box Set One, which will be coming out sometime in March.

3.  Paid my taxes, yay?

4.  Have completed the formatting on the print-on-demand versions, not sure when I'll get around to putting them through Createspace, but some serious progress on that front.

5.  New covers!  I've tasked the team at Deranged Doctor Design to craft six covers for the main King Henry books.  They'll be ready and should roll out August to September.

6.  Have jury duty in April, boo!

7.  A lesser known King Henry classmate will be in the first novella I'm working on, along with Tyson and a much more well known classmate, do know that much so far.

8.  No estimates on when it or Gush or really anything will be done.

9.  Here's hoping my brain starts working soon!

  1. A working brain is overrated anyway :)

Are you thinking of putting any of the protaganists on the covers? I always wonder how they look compared to how they look in my own mind. Would be hilarious if you had a Conan the Barbarian cover ripoff with King Henry holding aloft the shaky stick.

Lesser know classmate - I'll go with Raj, who we have seen a grand total of never outside the school stories. More well known? Please let it be Miranda!

    1. We'll have to see what they design :) Please be aware that these are graphic designers using photo manipulating software, fonts, vectors, etc. and stock photo libraries. It's not a commissioned piece from a cover artist. They can look very nice indeed, but don't expect exact matches with characters unless appropriate stock photos are lucked upon.

My number one goal with these covers is for them to scream Urban Fantasy so fans of that genre stop skipping because they're unsure about the current graffiti look.

As for your guesses, a reminder the novella is called "Assault on Dread Fortress Paine" ;)

  2. A bit of a problem here: I usually get alerts through goodreads when updates are posted here, but that hasn't been happening. Is that just me?

And a question for readers from me. Since RR's brain isn't working at the moment, I'll use the opportunity to ask a question. Can anyone name an author in this genre (or anything close) who you think is as good as, or approaching RR? If, dare to say it, you think someone is better, use "as good as" :)
