I've Sold 1 Book in 9 Days

:(

And it's not like my sales ranks have dropped much either so I'm guessing I'm not the only one...

:(

Good News:  I mean, I guess from your point of view, from mine, slightly annoying, but for obvious reasons my surgery won't be happening for quite a while now and all my doctor appointments have been wiped out or will be over the phone, so...I guess I'm just gonna spend my shelter-in-place doing some good ol' writing.

And probably playing the Final Fantasy 7 remake next month...but...yeah, expect productivity to finally increase somewhat.  Whether I release anything while no one has any money except for blackmarket toilet paper is another story, but we'll cross that bridge when I actually finish anything...

Not that any of this is very important right now.

Stay safe everyone.

  1. I would not be opposed to pandemic-imposed releases of material!

  2. I have $. If you write it & put it out for me to buy I will do that.

  3. Um... reading is my refuge in times of stress. Has been since... forever. And your situation is important to us, because- well- because we are in this together, even as we are staying apart... so to speak. And then, there's also the books. Can't forget the books. Since my work seems to think us IT people are either A)invulnerable or B)expendable (I am leaning toward B...), I too have money for books. Stay safe and also thank you for the mention of the Malazan Empire books....

    1. One of my all time favorite fantasy series! And responsible for a few slight influences on the King Henry Tapes as well...

  4. I have some friends that only do audible books. You could try that, even if you have to learn to use audio software yourself.

    1. Would take too much time away from me writing new material, which I think you can all agree I have too little time to do ATM anyway!

  5. Hey man, just wanted to let you know that I absolutely love your writing, just got done re-reading the King Henry Tapes, along with all of the "shorts". I bought all of them individually and also bought the short pack to help support everything. Is there anything the fans can do to help you with your process? I would literally donate to a Patreon or something each month to help with everything. I see that you've had some health issues lately, and I really hope those get resolved soon! We're all rooting for you!

    1. I've thought about it. Just like a 1 buck a month to get your name added to a supporter list at the end of every book or something, maybe more to be added to the beta reader list, but...with the way 2019 went I don't feel it's fair to try it until I get back up to full speed, which won't be until after the surgery anyway so...very much a "Maybe in the Future" thing.

  6. Hey R R, I'm really sad that this book isn't available outside Amazon in the form of physical books. I feel it's so underrated, and really could be a roaring success if it was shared more with the world.

    1. (Continued..)
Honestly I really love the prehistoric vampires and the Mancy concept here. If it was shared more with the world we could even have some Prime or Netflix adaptation show like "The Boys"!

  7. That's weird. You'd think book sales would increase with all the social distancing and isolation going on. I know the video game industry in general, and Steam specifically, has been having record YTD sales.

That said, hasn't it been 4 years since the last main line entry in the FM series? And your last release (which is a side story that not all people who read the series would necessarily be interested in) was almost 2 years ago. If you look at it from the perspective of recency and marketing, it's actually impressive that you're still getting sales, especially considering how many other books are competing with you on the Amazon marketplace.

    1. It was only for those ten days around all the Stay-At-Home Orders and the panic buying. Sales are back to normalish, but very much a moment where this writer realized that when push comes to shove, nothing is more important to people than a clean tushy.

  8. If you write it (it of course being a new King Henry Book), they (or at least I) will buy!!!

  9. I love all your books. I think I've read them all. Nothing like a new one to get folks interested in the whole series.
