Last time you fans seemed to enjoy this, so I guess I'll put another one up this go around too. Granted the book is smaller...but I'm sure you have some thoughts on the events that took place...especially, ya know, maybe the last few pages...
Spoilers...duh.
I just finished reading this twice, back-to-back, and I LOVE the foreshadowing! My brain is whirling with the possibilities! I want to know what Partial Success means, and what 3Q will do with them! I want to know whether Isabel is going to ultimately see King Henry's war as the continuation of Obadiah's. I want to know where Eva's Prism Wolf modification puts her in the Mancy Triangle! I want to know if the Dragons are really the enemies. I want to know where Annie B will come down in the end. I mean, they glassed her, for God's sake! Man, I just really want to KNOW!!
ReplyDeleteI'm also curious--what does a Thousandfaces dragon REALLY look like?
ReplyDeleteAnything it wants to?
DeleteI am really looking forward to GlassBreaker goes home now. I want to get some KHP feedback on artifacts/ insights.
ReplyDeleteLoved the portrayal of Lamprey (and the Scio/Spectro conflict between "Lamp Ray" and Ever Ready), especially since it is the light-based character who is "dark" and the dark-based one who is "energetic".
ReplyDeleteAlso enjoyed how King Henry has so infused Tyson and Eva that she can tell when Tyson is thinking "King Henry thoughts".
And then seeing Tyson actually interacting with the object of his kinda, sorta crush (GIRLFRIEND!) was just so sweet.
I wanna know if any other Maximi have certain books only they would find useful. Also, who wants to see King Henry and Team Rhino's lead meet?
ReplyDeleteYeah, I purposely don't write for those people and just generally consider jumping into the middle of a series to be weird.
ReplyDeleteI agree with this method. So much better than a 20 page event recap at the beginning. Or worse, completely reintroducing characters/ items each book of a series. My wife loses her mind everytime the “Blue Beetle” is reintroduced in Harry Dresden lol.
ReplyDeleteI have no problem with the method. :) I see it as an incentive to all newcomers to get off their asses and go buy the earlier books. After I finished this one, I went back and re-read FM6--freaking love that book.
