Everchanging Dilemma Discussion Thread (Spoilers Allowed in Comments!!!)

It's release day!!!

Linkage:  https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09SGXND5Q

I try to stay out of these, so talk and mingle and don't kick anyone in the balls.

Unless they request it, I suppose...

Anyway.  Thanks to everyone who hunted the typos and to anyone who leaves a review and, of course, spreads the word I'm still alive.

This will probably be up as the top post for a while.  Physio, doctors, and getting away from the net to start in on WAR TO END ALL WARS and such.

So, get all your theories and feelings and "WTF Raley" out here.

2/16 Update:  Broke into the Top 100 New Releases for "Coming of Age".  Need a little bit more for Paranormal or Urban Fantasy though, so keep pushing!  Doing great considering all the difficulties and side novel and all that.

Physio has been cancelled going forward...my back is very not good.  Talking to my physician today, probably with the idea of consults and surgeons and all that super fun stuff.  Good news is that I won't be tortured for the next month, so means I can focus in on WAR TO END ALL WARS sooner.  Bad news is...uhh...spinal surgery...

  1. Incredible. The pacing, the characterisation, the detailed descriptions, the big explanations, and sense of moving the series onto a whole other level. I reacted the same way I did to the Walking Dead episode where Negan kills Glenn and Abraham - I realised I was sitting there with my mouth hanging open. This is your best one yet, you brilliant man. Off to post an Amazon review and then read it again.

  2. I haven't gotten a chance to read it yet. I'm trying to finish the book I'm currently reading so I don't get distracted, but I'm eagerly anticipating it. I just want to let you know that the quality of your writing has continually improved from when you started so I'm trying my best to get to Ever Changing Dilemma quickly. Considering how the last few years have been for you and the last couple of months too, thank you for writing this series and giving us entertainment. It's one of a few series that were released digitally I can proudly say I have physical copies of and have read through entirely more than five times. Take care of yourself dude and know you have an audience willing to wait for more.

  3. The first third reminds me of 'Waiting for Godot' as Dr. Strange is joined by other established characters waiting for Isabel Soto to wake up. Adding her backstory was handled nicely.
    Then it all kicks off.
It was a pleasure to read Richard's new book, and I echo what Anon. says above about the considerable difficulties Richard has had to endure over the last few years.
    Here's to the next one!

  4. Disappointing lack of dragon discussion in this thread...

  5. Rule 1 of Dragon Club- Don't talk about Dragon Club....

And well- ya know, seems to me that calling a dragon is supposed to be ... what was the word? Oh yes... "bad (tm)(pat. pending)". So avoiding all of THAT. Although, I think the dragon equivalent for a English major would more likely be ... a thesaurus. "Synonymiat?"

The spoilerish take-away I got was- "Winners may write the history," but that doesn't mean the losers are necessarily disinterested tellers of truth, either. KH certainly is aware that the dragons have an agenda, one that perhaps only STARTS with "wipe out the parasites." And while it may be so that "the enemy of my enemy is my friend," what happens if BOTH of them want to eat you?

Getting a look at the capabilities of the Lady and Ceinwyn was... beautiful... in so many senses of the word.

And still laughing about "Lynnie and Wynnie's Excellent Las Vegas Adventures."

    1. Never say never, but VICKY WELF AND THE MANCY MASQUERADE is the only current side character POV novel planned.

  8. I want to know what species (?) ol' "Theodore Locke" ends up being.

  9. Bloody excellent work!
I was a bit shocked that Eva and even Evelyn seemed to know what a Maximus is. After all the trouble KH had to go to to steal that info, is it suddenly just out there?

I get that Ceinwyn has decided that the Secrecy rules are getting important people killed, but still don't expect her to go shouting stuff from the rooftops.

That said, dragons and realms and Atlas and

the real reason for Anima Quotas are now no longer a secret and that does set up new levels of world changing hooh-hah.
And that bit of backstory for Sariel is awfully menacing too. Nice.

Speaking of typos, I found Falschein misspelled Falschien twice on one page. A global search should help.

As the back permits I want more!
